SUBSCRIBER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The subscriber shall mean any natural person or legal entity who has registered as a subscriber on this website and other marketing activities. To register, you must be a natural person who has attained the legal age of eighteen (18) years or a legally incorporated business or company in compliance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. This website is not made available to persons who are categorised as incompetent to enter into a contract under Singapore law, including but not limited to minors, undischarged bankrupts etc. REALM reserves the right to terminate your registration or otherwise refuse access to the website if it is brought to our attention that the Subscriber is in breach of these terms and conditions. In the event you register as a business entity, you represent that you are duly authorised by the business entity to accept these terms and conditions and you have the authority to bind the business entity to the terms and conditions set out herein. In this regard, REALM reserves the right to request that you provide a letter of authorisation from the business entity you are representing.

Subscribers shall be solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login information including display name, password and other personal information in a safe and secure manner. In addition, Subscribers must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of their accounts.

Each Subscriber represents, warrants and agrees that:

1. Such information and material whether submitted during the registration process or thereafter throughout the continuation of use of the website is accurate, true, current and complete; and
2. Subscriber will undertake to maintain and promptly amend all information and/or material to keep it true, current and complete. We shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly in whatsoever way for any loss or damages as imposed as a result of Subscribers’ failure to comply with these terms and conditions.

CONTENT

REALM may allow its Subscribers and Users to post content, photos, comments, add links, contribute and publish ‘opinion’ articles, and other materials, provided that such posting is conducted in accordance with the laws of Singapore, including but not limited to the Copyright Act (Cap. 63). Anything Subscribers and users post or otherwise make available on our website are referred to as “User Content”. Users retain all rights and are solely responsible for the User Content posted on our website.

By submitting Subscribers and User Content to ‘Opinion’ section, Subscribers and Users warrant and represent that the content is:-

1. original;
2. for the purpose of promoting and educating the business events and tourism industry;
3. legal, accurate and in no violation of any law or regulation;
4. in no violation of any right of third parties;
5. not misleading in any way
6. not harmful, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, invasive of another party’s privacy, hateful, threatening or other characteristics that are deemed unethical and unlawful.

You admit that you are the sole author and are responsible for the content submitted by you. You acknowledge that the publishing of content on ‘Opinion’ is subject to our absolute discretion.

Subscriber and User Content, if not original, must have the requisite licences. In the event that any Subscriber and User Content is found to be infringing or in any way in contravention of these terms, Users agree to indemnify REALM and REALM from any liability caused by such actions, including any costs and damages arising therefrom.

By submitting content onto our website, Subscribers and Users grant REALM a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferrable, sub-licensable, worldwide licence to use, store and display, reproduce, re-publish, modify, create derivative works, perform and distribute Subscriber and User Content. Nothing in these terms shall restrict other legal rights REALM may have to Subscriber and User Content, for example under other licenses. Subscriber and Users acknowledge that REALM reserves the right to remove or modify Subscriber and User Content for any reason, including Subscriber and User Content that we believe violates these terms or our policies, but that

REALM is under no obligation to monitor the content and to take necessary actions such as removing, altering and blocking submitted content.

REALM PRIVACY POLICY

When dealing with the company, either as a client, supplier or a reader, you could be asked at various times to provide personal information including but not limited to, details such as your name, company name, position, e-mail address, mailing address or other similar information about you. This personal information that we receive could have been provided by you when; you visit our stand at a trade exhibition; when our company representative meets with you and you provide a business card; when you complete an electronic form on a website; or when you browse pages on our websites. Your reason for connecting with our company may have been:

• Readership
• Supplies
• Magazine subscription
• E-newsletter subscription
• Competition entry
• Educational trip application
• Site inspection requests

As part of its legitimate business interests, REALM may share your mailing address with a third party for the distribution of its promotional information. The selection of third parties is scrutinised by senior management. REALM will only deal with entities that are professional, ethical and have similar business scruples to REALM. You can choose to be removed from our distribution database at any time by following the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails or by sending an email to selinasinclair@therealmgrp.com. In providing your details the company accepts that you are consenting to inclusion on our distribution database.

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of our legitimate business interests and satisfying any legal or reporting requirements.  To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal information, the purposes for which we process your information and the applicable legal requirements.

There may be links on our website to other entities for which we have no control. The use of information and/or privacy provided by the operator of a linked site as to any information you provide in accessing a linked site is in no way subject to this privacy policy. REALM takes no responsibility for any privacy policies or practices of any website accessible from our site.

REALM operates secure data networks protected by industry-standard firewalls and password protection systems, to guard against the loss, misuse or alteration of information under the company’s control. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as is required and only authorised individuals have access to the information provided by our customers. Any particular sensitive information such as credit card number is encrypted (encoded so that it can not be read by anyone other than the secured server) prior to transmission, provided that the user accesses our site with a browser that supports at least a 128-bit encryption. ​

Complaints regarding content posted on the REALM website.

REALM respects the intellectual property rights of others and desires to offer a platform that is free of violation of these rights. Our User Terms and Conditions require that information posted by Subscribers and users be accurate, lawful and not in violation of the rights of third parties. To promote these objectives, REALM provides a process for submission of complaints concerning content posted by our Subscribers and Users.

Please note that in the event REALM receives a complaint, REALM reserves the right to forward the complaint and the complainant’s contact information to the Subscriber and User who allegedly posted the content under complaint. REALM also reserves the right to disable, suspend and/or terminate the accounts of Subscribers and Users, at any time pending investigations into the actions complained of, and/or where the complaint is found to be valid.

Please note that any complaint submitted must be made in good faith and is true to the best of Users’ knowledge. A false complaint may give rise to personal liability for defamation and groundless threat of infringement, among other things. Users may therefore want to seek the advice of legal counsel before submitting a complaint.

To assist REALM in investigating complaints, please ensure that any such complaints contain the following information:-

1. A description of the work that has allegedly been infringed including its date of creation;
2. A description specifying the location on our website of the allegedly infringing material;
3. Your email address and your mailing address and/or telephone number;
4. A statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner;
