The months of May to September offer the most favorable conditions, with clear skies and calm seas perfect for activities such as snorkeling, sailing, cultural visits, and nature adventures.

The shoulder months (April and October) are also excellent options, offering beautiful weather with fewer crowds and a more relaxed island atmosphere.

By Sea

Once you arrive in Bali, catch a fast boat transfer from Bali to Lombok (approximately 3-4 hours depending on departure point and sea conditions).

The fast ferry from Bali to Lombok departs primarily from three major ports: Padang Bai, Sanur, and Serangan, with Padang Bai being the most popular and direct hub. Most operators drop passengers off at either Bangsal Harbour (North Lombok) or Senggigi (West Lombok), usually stopping at the Gili Islands along the way.

Realm Architect Tips:
Book Online In Advance! Ticket prices vary by season but generally run between $30 and $65 USD (approx. 450,000 to 1,000,000 IDR) each way. Booking online ensures instant confirmation.

Check for Hotel Shuttles:
Many reputable fast boat operators bundle air-conditioned hotel pick-up/drop-off services from popular tourist areas in Bali directly into their ticket price.

Sea Conditions:
The Lombok Strait can experience rough swells, particularly in the afternoons. If you are prone to motion sickness, try to book the earliest morning departure available.

The Absolute Best Months to Catch the Fast Ferry:
April, May, September, & October. These shoulder months offer the perfect balance for a sea crossing.

Sea Conditions: Calmest waves of the year. The water is often flat and glassy, reducing the chances of motion sickness.

Weather: Beautiful, sunny days with low humidity.

Crowds: Lower tourist numbers mean ferry tickets are cheaper, easier to book, and the ports are much less chaotic.
