Bali, with its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage, has long been a premier destination for tourists and event planners alike. However, the influx of visitors has placed significant strain on the island’s natural resources and environment. In response, we actively encourage companies hosting events in Bali to integrate socially conscious elements into their event planning. This not only enhances the experience for participants but also contributes positively to the local environment and community.
Coral Reef Restoration with Bali Hai Cruises
We collaborate with several organizations dedicated to mitigating the adverse effects of tourism on Bali. One of our most esteemed partners is Bali Hai Cruises. Renowned for their exceptional offerings for incentive groups, Bali Hai Cruises has also committed to an extensive coral reef restoration project over the past seven years.
Bali Hai Cruises’ coral reef restoration initiative is focused on Lembongan Bay, an area that has suffered significant coral damage. The project aims to increase the local fish population, restore the beauty and functionality of the underwater environment, and enhance coastline protection. Event groups can actively participate in this effort by joining the Coral Restoration Workshop Program on the Bali Hai Pontoon. Here, participants have the unique opportunity to plant coral on reef star structures, directly contributing to the regeneration of the reef.
Cleaning the Rivers: Sungai Watch
Another vital initiative is spearheaded by Sungai Watch, an organisation dedicated to cleaning Bali’s rivers. Despite significant improvements in plastic usage reduction in recent years, Indonesia continues to grapple with a major plastic waste problem. Sungai Watch addresses this by removing plastic waste from rivers, preventing it from reaching the ocean. Event groups can engage in river clean-up activities, fostering a sense of environmental stewardship among participants.
Promoting Zero Waste with the R.O.L.E. Foundation
The Zero Waste Centre, managed by the R.O.L.E. Foundation, is an environmental skills centre that plays a crucial role in sharing ecological knowledge and waste management training. The centre works with local governments, businesses, communities, and individuals to promote sustainable practices that improve the local environment. By reducing the amount of waste that ends up in rivers, oceans, or landfills, the R.O.L.E. Foundation helps preserve Bali’s natural beauty. Event groups can visit the Zero Waste Centre to learn about sustainable practices and implement them in their daily lives and work environments.
Integrating socially conscious elements into event planning in Bali not only enhances the overall experience but also contributes to the preservation and restoration of the island’s natural environment. By partnering with like-minded organisations, event planners can ensure that their events leave a positive impact on Bali. Participants can actively contribute to the sustainability of this beautiful island, ensuring that it remains a paradise for generations to come.
